Faithful Assurance

Restless night in hope I seek,

Thy blessed seal on high.

Sin so great, please mercy meet

These prayers and pleas tonight.

T ’was the day You came to me,

To wretched faithless man.

Christ the Lord has set me free:

The Cross, my hope, I ran.

Sins once loved now crucified,

My heart was made anew.

Righteousness and p’wer I find,

To kill sin that once slew.

Praise the name of Him who died,

And rose up from the grave.

Faith in Him will justify,

This sinner on that day.

Rest in hope of glory near,

Though trials come and pass.

Bought by Christ in Him no fear;

His love and grace steadfast.

Death will come with all its might,

This world hopeless and grim;

I’ll stand firm in robes of white,

Forever praising Him!
